About Thomas
Hi, I'm Thomas Worzella
As a business professional, I enjoy most every aspect of operating a business. Especially analyzing, possibility thinking and creative marketing. If you want to experience my passion, ask me why I enjoy my involvement with businesses.
Though I have never attended the conventional college, I have probably earned the equivalent of two or more degrees in my studious indulgement in business. I was quite anxious to start my own business soon after high school. I knew it was what I wanted to do, but I had no real idea just how much of an investment it would be. I'm not talking about the money! I mean investing time, hard work and getting a REAL education.
I believe it is one of the most educational journeys any person can take.
When you learn to work for yourself, you work hard and learn fast. I've studied longer and harder than many of my friends who went on to college, and still do to this day. The learning never ends if you want to stay on top of your game. Especially in today's competitive market.
You know what? I wouldn't have it any other way!
Thus my slogan "Staying Plugged In!"
No matter what you do -
love it and do it well.
Who is this kid?:
My first business at 21. I put on a suit and tie to peddle products and services to local businesses. When your that young most people look at you like "who is this kid?"
Let me tell you it wasn't easy bridging the gap of age and experience. As a young person, especially shy around elders, it was a big challenge. I really had to step out of my comfort zone. It took me a good year or more to overcome most of my fears.
Eventually I gained more experience and confidence. I started using my creativity to gain attention. I found using sales tools really made me different than most of my competitors. I started doing product demonstrations, playing show and tell and asking more questions.
Engaging the customer in more conversation took away that uncomfortable feeling. I actually started having fun and was making more sales. A great AH HA moment. Price wasn't the big topic anymore because I was adding value to my products by educating my customers and solving problems.
Image and Branding:
As I learned more about ways to set myself apart, things got even better and more exciting. Finding companies to "private label" products for me with my company name on them avoided the "apple to apple" comparisons and "what's your price". That was good, but not as good as creating a” private brand".
Now I was creating a whole new image that seemed to give my products the appearance of national brands. My Branded Products seemed to boast instant credibility, and of course I had the exclusive on the entire product line.
That was the begining of my desire to be unique. Oh Yeah!
